Sharps is working with dozens of municipalities and cities to eliminate needles, syringes and lancets from the public waste stream. Municipal programs are designed to provide a safe alternative in public areas and for self-injecting residents with Sharps Disposal By Mail System®.

We design programs specific to each municipality. For example, an individual who resides in a municipality that has implemented the program may receive the Sharps Disposal by Mail System at a local participating pharmacy. With recently passed legislation in California and Massachusetts, demand for these types of municipal programs continues to increase.
